Verificata Once In a Lifetime Experience
My best friend and I had an amazing wine tour in Montecarlo, Tuscany today. Simone Vergamini was the consummate professional. Warm, engaging and highly informative about not only wine but the region we were in. He picked us up promptly at our hotel at 11 am. First stop was La Torre winery where we enjoyed a personal tour of the vineyard, the fermentation room and the wine cellar. We enjoyed a tasting of 4 wines produced at the winery and one dessert wine that is a Tuscan tradition. We were served charcuterie and a phenomenal Pomodoro soup. Between the two of us we walked away with 5 bottles of wine. One for our hotel room. And 4 we’ve got to get back to the US. After La Torre, we had wanted to see the medieval town of Montecarlo. Simone walked us through the town, talking about the history and leading us to some amazing views. Once we had finished with Montecarlo we went to Buonamico Winery. Here, a member of the staff took my friend and I (and a fantastic pair of BFF’s much like us but from Australia) on a very in-depth and educational tour of their wine cellars. A tasting of 5 wines followed, along with a small plate of meats and cheeses and bread with olive oil. Throughout it all, Simone was an excellent guide. The pace was prefect. The wineries were accommodating and educational. The food was amazing. He was even nice enough to stop on the way back to our hotel so we could pick up a few bottles of water. I’d highly, highly recommend Simone and WineAfterWine! It was the experience of a lifetime.

    Verificata Book This Tasting!
You must book this experience with Simone! We had an easy day to recover from exploring all Italy has to offer, and this was the perfect way to continue learning about Tuscany from the comfort of our villa. Simone arrived promptly, with a smile, and the juice for a great night. The table setting was wonderful, and at the location of our choosing on the property. Simone clearly has a great love for Tuscany and its wines; anyone is lucky to learn from him about the history and characteristics of the wines available from this region. The wines provided were delicious and well curated by Simone, and we would never have tried these wines while in Italy (or anywhere else!) without his help. Cheeses, breads and incredible olive oil were included with the tasting. Wines were so good that we ended up buying a few bottles to enjoy on the remainder of our stay! Will definitely be ordering more to ship home to the US! Thank you, Simone, for a wonderful evening! We hope to see you again soon!

Verificata A fabulous afternoon of wine!
Simone was a charming guide and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip into the Tuscan Hills. The two wineries we visited were excellent with very friendly hosts. My only comment would be that there is too much food!! We felt so bad that we had to leave some!!

Verificata Simone is the wine expert you need to enjoy Lucca
Simone is amazing! He met us and we set off in his comfortable and clean SUV for our 4+ hour tour of 2 wineries in the hills around Lucca. His knowledge and kind demeanor made the trip memorable. We thoroughly recommend you take time to do this private tour to really understand the wine and also the olive oil of the region. Thanks again Simone.

Verificata Amazing tour around the Tuscan hills with great wine and food.
Such a lovely private wine tasting tour for a birthday present. Two amazing wineries with great food and lovely wines at both. We got to go into a vineyard and had the option to buy wine at either, which we did! We come every year to Tuscany but have never done this and we really enjoyed it! The second winery had one of the most beautiful views I had ever seen.

Verificata Simone was a fantastic guide through the wines of the Lucca region. He arrived at our villa on time and even did an evening tasting for us so we could get the kids to bed. We tasted 5 wines which were all lovely and he let us keep the rest of the bottles afterwards. The information about the local wines was really interesting and he answered loads of our questions. A really fun evening, strongly recommend.

He was prompt on his arrival, friendly and welcoming. I felt comfortable immediately. His knowledge of the area was immense and you could tell by the interactions at both wineries that he was well liked. He brought us to 2 wineries. The first La torre was a smaller family run winery we were served generous pours of 4 wines, Tuscan bread with olive oil and a meat and cheese platter. The wines were superb and we were given ample time to enjoy each. We were also served a traditional pompadouro tomato soup. This was incredibly thick and the flavors were outstanding. After we walked around the ancient city of Monte Carlo which was lovely. The architecture and history surrounding you was incredible. We ventured on to a larger winery Buonamico. The views of the Tuscan countryside were incredible. Our guide Leaonardo was very knowledgeable about the wines and surrounding areas. We had an enjoyable experience here as well sampling wines and touring the wine cellars. His knowledge of the wine making process was great. If you are looking for lovely way to spend your afternoon I would highly encourage you to book a private tour with Simone! Thank you for an incredible day!

Trustindex verifica che la fonte originale della recensione sia Google. We booked a private wine tour with Simone in late September, and chanced upon Wine After Wine as we were after a sommelier to guide us and did he deliver. Simone organised to pick us up from our agriturismo in Buggiano and visited 2 wineries with us, with a light lunch at the first and tasting plate at the second to accompany the wines tasted, before he dropped us back to our agriturismo. He was very knowledgeable but also was discreet enough to give us some space to ourselves during each tasting to chat among ourselves. The samples were plentiful, as were the food and we really enjoyed learning and being able to converse with an experienced somm such as Simone about the wine industry in Italy, the differences between northern and southern Tuscany in terms of the production, history and compare tasting notes. Southern Tuscany get all the publicity but there are some real gems in Northern Tuscany and the surrounding areas, and the two wineries we visited were ones we wouldn't have thought to visit. He can also do private tastings but we didn't have time to organise another session, otherwise we totally would have done that also! If you are after an intimate experience with a sommelier who clearly knows his stuff (and his region), you definitely need to get on to Simone. The prices were very reasonable too!

We had an amazing time with Simone in Lucca! He picked us up from our accommodation and drove our group to 2 different wineries in the Lucca region. Both places were exceptional and the lunch provided at the first stop was fresh and delicious. It was the perfect blend of having a guided tour but also enough "alone" time for our group to enjoy each other's company, the sceneries and the wine. He was also very accommodating with our daughter that we brought along with us. Hopefully we will be back!
